1. Use
a steel measuring tape.
2. Measure to the nearest
eighth of an inch - don't
round your measurments.
3.
Clearly indicate which measurment
is the width and which is
the height.
4.
Do NOT take deductions for
an inside mount. The factory
takes those allowances. You
need to provide your exact
window size.
5.
You need to provide the exact
overall blind size needed
for an outside mount.
Inside
or Outside Mount :
Decide if you want to mount
the blind inside the window
or outside on the wall or
moulding. For an inside mount,
the window opening must have
enough unobstructed depth
to allow mounting. Important:
For a flush inside mount check
that you have enough depth
and make sure you request
the valances be made the same
width as blind since they
are normally made an inch
or two wider. We recommend
inside mounts when possible
as it provides a cleaner look.
An outside mount can make
a window appear larger or
hide a window. When using
a inside mount, we make a
size deduction allowing for
operating clearance for the
blind. We will deduct up to
1/4" from each side (
vertical blinds require a
height deduction of 1/4").
The deduction is made to allow
the blind not to rub or scratch
your window frame. With an
outside mount, your blind
will be made at the exact
size you specify. You should
add to the opening measurement
for overlap and mounting brackets.
Read product specific measuring
instructions before ordering.
